MSM'S Partners' conference 2018: an event to learn from each other

MSM held its Partners’ Conference in Maastricht from 30 May until 1 June 2018 welcoming 19 representatives from eleven different partner institutes from China, Germany, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kuwait, Suriname, Romania, Yemen and the UK. Joining the Partners’ Conference via Skype were the partners from Egypt, Vietnam, Mongolia, the USA and Peru. MSM partners with these institutions in delivering the Master, MBA and DBA programs.

MSM’s Partners’ Conference is an annual event which MSM organizes to integrate efforts, reinforce relationships and to strengthen the quality of the joint programs.

“The Partners Conference is a very pleasant event to meet all partners and to learn from each other. MSM and Uni-bridge are at an early stage in their partnership. We agreed on all the terms and conditions and now it’s time to make things happen. This really is a challenge and therefore being here at the Partners Conference gives us the opportunity to really get to know MSM, its partners and learn from each other” – Jol Stoffers, Project Consultant at Uni-bridge Indonesia.

The conference is a practical event aimed at those who deal with the day-to-day business of education management including student admissions, grading, faculty and course scheduling. This year the conference focused on quality and accreditation as well as the alumni network and improving understanding and use of standard operating procedures and digital support applications.

The partners and MSM staff took part in a 3-day informative and interactive program. The program started with a welcome from MSM’s Dean, Professor Naudé and Ms. Katalin Kovacs, MSM’s Associate Dean Global Education Programs briefed new staff changes at MSM. Mr. Oliver Olson, Director Global Education Programs will move to the new role of Director of Technology and Engineering Management. Mr Dave Cass takes over Oliver’s former post with the new title of Director of Education and Executive Development.

This year we also welcomed two new partners, the School for Executive Education and Development (SEED) from Hungary and Mahan Business School (MBS) from Iran.

During the 3-day conference there was also time to enjoy the city of Maastricht. The first day of the conference ended with a guided walking tour through the historic city center followed by an opportunity to continue networking at an informal dinner. Attendees were also invited to join students and staff at the MSM Sustainability Dinner as part of the European Sustainable Development Week.
