Tailor made training on Strengthening Capacity for Bhutanese Public-Private Partnerships
A joint proposal between the Bhutanese Ministry of Finance – Public Private Partnerships and Maastricht School of Management has won a Nuffic tender to strengthen capacity for the Bhutanese Public-Private Partnerships (PPP).
The Government of Bhutan is interested in expanding the use of PPP modalities, which will continue to be an important priority in coming government development plans. Currently the Government has limited capacity on PPP and doesn’t have the ability to perform the PPP responsibilities effectively and efficiently. PPP is a new concept in Bhutan, while the Government aspires to reap the benefits of private resources through PPP in development of Infrastructure, it faces acute resource shortages in terms of capacity, knowledge and skills in PPP and faces constraints to train the officials.
MSM will support the Bhutanese Government in enhancing their capacity on PPP through the Tailor Made Training: Strengthening Capacity for Bhutanese Public-Private Partnerships. During this training MSM will share its best practices and participants will have the opportunity to work on assignments that are aimed at starting up implementation of several aspects of PPP. The training results are not restricted to participants and are transferrable to other government agencies that engage in PPP. Also included in the tailor made program is a work visit to the Netherlands.
The project will run from November 2018 until October 2019 and will be led by Rita van Deuren, Senior Project Consultant and Assistant Professor at MSM. Lead trainer in the project is prof. Jan Telgen, who has worked with MSM earlier in the field of public procurement.
