Strategic Management for organisational success
“This programme gave me the opportunity to connect with smart and brilliant like-minded professionals from around the world to share experiences and learn from theirs." This is what Mr. Cyrille Wendyanaba Korentin Zongo from Burkina Faso said after successfully completing the Short Executive Programme Strategic Leadership, which took place from 17 – 21 April 2023 in Maastricht.
On the question why Mr. Zongo decided to apply for the Strategic Leadership programme he answered answered: “I have been working as a business analyst for the past 3-4 years helping my company understand internal and external business drivers and to make sound decisions. Through participating in this programme, I wanted to improve my business analysis skills, develop strategic thinking and reinforce my leadership abilities in order to contribute best to my company and my community."
For Ms. Graziella El Khally joining the Strategic Leadership programme gave her more confidence in challenging herself to improve her level of work: “I was a bit afraid of meeting international standards, but I decided to go for it and prepare myself for the new challenges ahead. Furthermore, I chose for this programme for the whole learning experience itself, being part of a group professionals coming from different countries, different backgrounds, different cultures, and sharing with them their experiences, ideas and challenges in life.”
Throughout the week, the participants worked on various group assignments to bring theory immediately into practice. Something Mr. Zongo highly valued: “The group assignments were a great way to apply our knowledge from our personal experiences and challenge our understanding of the programme. I enjoyed working and learning from my peers. Everyone was fully immersed into the subject, showing passion for strategy and demonstrated commitment to adding value to his/her work. I am excited and looking forward to hearing the amazing things that each single one of us will achieve in our respective organisations upon returning.”
Ms. El Khally fully agrees: “The group assignments were a good opportunity to discuss, share experiences, ideas and advices on my start-up project.”
About the executive Strategic Leadership programme
Both private and public organisations need to adapt to numerous outside world developments such as technological developments, economic development, the need for more social responsibility and increased international competition. Strategic management and leadership deals with processes aimed at setting the organisation’s direction, objectives and priorities in the changing landscape, at focusing on internal energy and resources to achieve the objectives and at aligning internal and external stakeholders.
