Strategic Leadership to shape the future
“I greatly benefited from this course. It was well lectured with professional support” according to Sherif Mohy Eldin Bashir, Managing Director of Ministry Energy in Egypt, who joined the 5-day Strategic Leadership program last week. The program brought participants from 7 different countries and is designed to help (potential) leaders to improve their leadership and organizational skills in order to develop and implement effective strategies. Due to the COVID-19 measures, the program was taught online.
Leo Kerklaan, lecturer and consultant in Strategic Performance Management, taught the participants the most relevant aspects of effective strategic leadership, the nature of a strategy and on decision making about the desired strategic position. Furthermore, Leo introduced the different tools and instruments for strategic planning, analysis and implementation. On the last day of the program, the participants integrated all the new insights, knowledge and skills in the implementation plan to achieve the strategic objectives of their own organizations.
Máté Mohácsi from the Netherlands considered the Strategic Leadership as a very good experience: “The balance between the lecturers and putting the knowledge into practice was very well organized. The practical examples from Leo Kerklaan were interesting and entertaining at the same time. Even though it was an online course, Leo managed to involve everybody in the course and give personal attention and feedback to everybody.”
Throughout the program, the participants worked on several exercises to put the newly gained knowledge into practice which was very much appreciated by the participants: “Great experience, lots of hands-on exercises and that is what enriches the training and the program. Leo Kerklaan listened, he shared his knowledge and his experience and answered all our questions and concerns” according to Louiza Ahmid from Algeria.
Also Leo Kerklaan looks back at a very successful program: “I like it when it all comes together in my executive course. Although from 7 different countries we are soon on our way as team. Participants were eager to deepen their strategic leadership skills and are interacting with a lot fun often in the breakout rooms.”
