MSM provides course on Strategic Leadership and Planning for Sudanese ministry and institutions
On Monday, 29th March 2021, Maastricht School of Management (MSM) kicked off the 4-day training course on Strategic Leadership and Planning. The tailor-made-training TMT brought together a group of 33 participants with different professional backgrounds coming from the Sudan Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Urban Development, Roads and Bridges, Sudan Urban Development Think Tank (SUDTT) and the University of Khartoum (UofK).
Leo Kerklaan, lecturer and consultant in Strategic Performance Management, taught the participants the basic elements of building a Strategy, how to develop strategic objectives and design corresponding KPIs. Leo Kerklaan introduced different models, tools and instruments for strategic planning, analysis and implementation. The hands-on teaching approach and adaptive course tailoring of Leo Kerklaan was very much appreciated by the participants.
This 4 day-course is part of an elaborate tailor-made-training (TMT) programme, delivered to support an extensive reform programme carried out by the two ministries which aims to modernize their approach to management, improve service delivery and achieve operational excellence. A taskforce has been carefully selected from both ministries, SUDTT and UofK to lead this effort.
About the Project
MSM is collaborating with SUDTT in organizing the TMT to provide the taskforce with skills and practical instruments to better identify the appropriate direction of change and guide their organizations through the transition process starting from strategic planning, change management, stakeholder management and facilitation, through to project design, monitoring and finance.
