Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for ISDB in Mozambique
In the last week of July MSM trainers Rui Santos and Rita van Deuren supported ISDB in preparing for implementation of SOP and KPI.
ISDB (Instituto Superior de Dom Bosco) is a higher learning institute in Maputo (Mozambique) responsible for TVET teacher education. MSM cooperates with CINOP in a Nuffic funded NICHE-project to strengthen ISDB educational programs, organizational capacity and staff capacity.
The SOP & KPI workshop illustrates MSM typical way of working in capacity development activities that is characterized by effective combination of theory and application while jointly strengthening individual and organizational capacity. The training component enhanced participants’ understanding of SOP and KPI and provided inspiring best practices from Dutch higher education. Parallel to the training activities, participants worked in groups and plenary discussed on tools and instruments relevant for the daily functioning and management of ISDB.
At the end of the SOP & KPI workshop, participants agreed on a first set of KPI to be used in planning and monitoring of ISDB operations. Also, core processes were identified for which in a next step SOP procedure will be reviewed, developed and described. Both top- and middle management of ISDB participated in the workshop, strengthening the ownership of the outputs of the training and allowing for teambuilding.
