MSM supports animal logistics in Indonesia
On Wednesday, 29 August 2018 Forum Logistik Peternakan Indonesia (FLPI) organized its first national conference themed “Strengthening Network on Animal Logistics Industry”, supported by Maastricht School of Management (MSM). The conference was attended by representatives of government, business, higher education, and farmers and concluded with a strong appeal to strengthen cooperation for a more efficient and food secure animal logistics sector in Indonesia
The conference was part of the multi-year project Animal Logistics Indonesia – Netherlands (ALIN), funded by the Netherlands government under the framework of the Netherlands Initiative for Capacity development in Higher Education (NICHE). In his keynote speech, Zaldi Ilham Masita, the chairman of Indonesian Logistic Association, emphasized on the importance of standardization as he said” Indonesia needs standards for animal logistics to move to the next level of automation in order to reduce logistics costs”. Huub Mudde, MSM Senior Project Consultant, shared MSM’s international experiences of multi-stakeholder cooperation.
Nanya Burki the Head of Development and Partnerships complimented IPB and MSM for the achievements in the project on behalf of Nuffic Neso Indonesia: “We are proud that the project has made some remarkable achievements such as the cooperation of multi-stakeholders from Indonesia and the Netherlands, the development of a new Sarjana+ and Master’s program in Animal Logistics, the establishment of Forum Logistik Peternakan Indonesia (FLPI), and coherent research program in Animal Logistics”.
