MSM strengthens its project activities in the Middle East
On the 15th of November Maastricht School of Management (MSM) will start a Nuffic funded project in Jordan to enhance horticulture curricula and programs of two TVETs and one Higher Education provider and improve agricultural growth and sustainable & equitable water use.
Together with its consortium partners, University of Amsterdam, CINOP, QPoint, Profyta and Acacia Water, MSM will start the project named “Strengthening capacity of TVET teaching and management staff to enhance development and provision of curricula and programs by HEs & TVETs in the Jordanian horticulture sector.” Jointly they will support the University of Jordan (Horticulture and Soil, Water & Environment departments) and Al- Balqa’ Applied University (Agriculture Technology department) in designing and implementing the new occupational standards for TVETs in Jordan, starting with 2 selected TVETs: Shoubk University College and Al-Huson University College.
The focus of the project is to strengthen the technical capacities of their teaching staff and management to successfully provide these courses and educate young people in the field of horticulture sector development and optimizing water efficiency and wastewater re-use for irrigation. Curricula and courses will be strongly based on the needs in the horticulture labour market.
The multiple-year project will be directed by Dr. Diederik de Boer, Director International Projects and Consultancies and coordinated by Hans Nijhoff, Senior Project Consultant at MSM. The project wil run from November 2019 until December 2021.
Nuffic Orange Knowledge Programme
The Orange Knowledge Programme is a €195-m Dutch global development programme, available in 53 developing countries and managed by Nuffic, a Dutch non-profit organisation for internationalisation in education. Launched mid-2017, it aims to have provided tens of thousands with the possibility to change their future through education and training by mid-2022.
