Managing organizational change
“I work for a software company, with customers for whom the adoption of our products is a change management initiative in itself. I was looking for in-depth, in-person training in the Netherlands and came across the Executive Program at MSM. At work, we've done several "American-outlook" led change management trainings and I wanted to get a European perspective on the subject matter.”
This is what Mrs. Tsvetlina Mihaylova from Bulgaria said on the last day of the executive Change Management program which took place from 16 – 20 May 2022.
When we asked her which part of the program has been most valuable to her she continued: “All diagnostic frameworks and tools which were shared during the class will be extremely helpful in my work! I also appreciate the flow of the lectures and the great examples shared throughout the course.”
For Mr. Rafael Salencar from Brazil joining this program has been very usefull: “All companies seek constant transformation nowadays. Knowing the correct approach to the different scenarios is key to have success in the business, so the subject Change Management is a very important and trending topic to discuss, learn and share experiences.”
Also Mr. Jonathan Chiong from the Philippines has no regret in joining the program and summarized it an experience to never forget: “I am so thankful that I was able to join this program at this prestigious institution and I will cherish all the learning, all the experiences – while working for four different jobs in the Philippines - in my heart forever.”
During the program the participants dived into various tools and theories to successfully manage change, especially this part has been very interesting for Mr. Rafael Salencar from Brazil: “All topics covered in the program were interesting, but the most important part for me were the different change management theories, and especially the psychology side of all the useful tools that can be used to transform a company effectively."
To put theory into practice, the participants worked on various group assignments throughout the week. Working and learning together with professionals coming from all over the world has been an enriching experience for many participants: “It was an amazing experience discussing, learning and sharing experiences with different leaders from all around the world.” According to Mr. Rafael Salencar.
Also Ms. Mihaylova fully agreed: “We had a variety of public organizations and private companies to discuss in groups for assignments. I really enjoyed how open and collaborative all team members were and the perspective each team member brought to the table.”
About the executive Change Management program
Change is a constant factor in today’s business world. Organizations constantly have to adapt, to their external environment, but also make changes to their internal organization. Project aiming to improve efficiency, IT implementation projects, cultural change processes and organizational restructuring projects can run concurrently in one organization at a point in time. This can put extreme demands on employees, who can act either as a barrier or catalyst for successful change initiatives. Organizational change requires a fundamental different approach to organizational processes compared with the traditional approach of management. Managers have to decide on the direction of change and guide their organization through the process of transition. The CM program will prepare managers of today for the challenges of leading organizational change and renewal tomorrow.
The executive change management program is designed by Mr. Geert Heling, Professor of Organizational Behaviour at MSM, with the aim to equip (potential) managers with the managerial skills and capabilities to lead organizational change processes. Something he did with success: “Prof Geert is fantastic! He has a solid background in this subject, mastering all the topics with excellence and making the students reflect on the different themes, scenarios and authors, giving different tools that can be used depending on each situation.” Said Mr. Salencar.
Ms. Mihaylova couldn’t agree more: “Geert is an incredibly knowledgeable and masterful trainer! I applaud his ability to captivate the attention of all participants in the training and his storytelling skills! The lectures flowed very logically, and days flew by really quickly. I learned a lot and I will recommend this class to my colleagues and friends!”
