K2K Algeria project on Entrepreneurship Development successfully completed
On Tuesday February 27 2024, the Knowledge to Knowledge (K2K) Algeria project on entrepreneurship capacity building came to a ceremonial closure. In this 2-year project funded by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), Maastricht School of Management (MSM) – Maastricht University supported leadership, teachers, and incubator managers of the Universities of Oran 1 and 2, and of l’Ecole Supérieure Algérienne des Affaires (ESAA).
Ms Yamina BENNACER, Policy Assistant for Trade and Economic Affairs, Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as well as Prof Ahmed Chaalal, Rector of University of Oran 2 stressed the importance of the project, because it contributed to Algerian’s ambition to boost youth employment by means of entrepreneurship and strengthen the ties between Algeria and the Netherlands. First steps are taken on further institutional cooperation.
Dr Huub Mudde, MSM’s team lead, thanked all, indicating that some steps have been taken together in the entrepreneurial endeavor of the Algerian universities. Over a period of one year, ten training and coaching sessions have been held on topics like incubator management, open innovation, design thinking, entrepreneurial strategy development, ecosystem, group work, innovation management, access to finance, and entrepreneurial competences. In many study programs, entrepreneurial competences are now included as well as student-centered teaching methods. Furthermore, the newly set-up university incubators have now developed strategies and programs.
This project is funded by the RVO and is managed by MSM Senior Project Consultant Dr Huub Mudde.
