Strengthening the capacity of the Women National Committee
From January 2011 until December 2016 MSM implemented a project with the aim to strengthen the capacity of the Women National Committee (WNC) to guide the mainstreaming of gender in the NICHE program and in the Ministries of Higher Education, Technical Education and Vocational Training, Water & Environment, and Public Health & Population and their NICHE projects. This means that the WNC is equipped with knowledge, skills, resources, structures, network and credibility to guide the selected ministries in mainstreaming gender within their policies with the ultimate aim of reducing gender disparities in the sectors health, water and education.
The Consortium focused on the following three result clusters to strengthen:
- WNC’s capacity to mainstream gender in the specific sectors and bodies.
- WNC’s advisory and policy maker role and raise its profile and network.
- WNC’s competencies in strategic leadership and in institutional management.
