Capacity building project for a citizen-led transition process in Sudan
The Sudan Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport is in the midst of a crucial change process in Sudan. To successfully carry out this process a high level of leadership and management skills is required. These skills play an instrumental role in strategy implementation through contributing to organizational climate, team cohesion and individual engagement within the Ministry and other relevant organizations.
The training
During the TMT, the focus will mainly be on training the middle level management, however a capacity building project like this reaches further than just middle management and can be considered as the first step in a wider process of supporting the Sudanese government and its societal partners.
The goal of the training is to contribute to the objective of the Ministry to ensure a sustainable, prosperous and safe Sudan. A strong focus will be on supporting the core taskforce of change agents and strengthening them in their pertinent work. The TMT will provide the Ministry and its partners with the skills to better identify the appropriate direction of change and guide organizations through the transition process. Furthermore, the training will:
- Promote the rule of law, analyzing the efficacy of existing arrangements and support innovative reform
- Promote multi-stakeholder approaches, and uses of open data to support priority setting and accountability
- Promote evidence-based policymaking, supporting evolving think tanks and the climate for their analytical efforts
- Strengthen inclusive governance at the local level with tested approaches to citizen engagement in service improvement, and the design of performance-based grants.
