Capacity Assessment of School of Finance and Banking (Rwanda) and University of Light (Burundi)
The objectives of the assignment were the following:
- To identify the capacity gaps that should be addressed in order to bring the two institutions to the same level as other financial sector training and academic institutions in the region. The capacity gap included inter-alia human resource infrastructure, course content and information and knowledge management facilities;
- Design an action plan for building capacity within LU and SFB, to be able to sustain a financial sector educational program targeting the different stakeholders in banking, pensions, capital markets, insurance, microfinance and SACCOs sub-sectors in the two Partner States.
The capacity assessment of the two institutions is a supply side assessment of capacity needs and will be done at three levels:
- Human Capital Assessment
- Institutional Capacity Assessment
- Environmental Assessment
