Building a knowledge base of agri-tourism at the Caucasus University in Tiblisi
Georgia is an agricultural country having a long history in farming and allied activities. Therefore, there is a high potential to develop an important sector such as the agri-tourism and the demand for agri-tourism is increasing gradually.
Caucasus University (CU), is moving in the direction of establishing training programs for both the tourism industry as well as in the field of agri-business. Based on the developed master in agri-business, and the agri-tourism needs in the market, CU wants to develop within the existing master program a specialization on agri-tourism as well as a standalone diploma program on agri-tourism. By building up a knowledge base on agri-tourism, CU will be better capable of addressing future agri- tourism issues in Georgia. To establish this vision MSM will help building a knowledge base for agri-tourism.
In order to build up the knowledge in this field, the Tailor Made Training will work with CU staff and selected resource personnel from the private and public sector on gaining more insight on the nature of agri-tourism potential in Georgia. The research-findings will lead to the development of a specialization on agri-tourism within the existing agri-business master program as well as for a standalone diploma program on agri-tourism
