Empowering education systems for skills and impact
Higher education and vocational training institutions are under growing pressure to stay relevant in rapidly changing economies. They face evolving demands from governments, industries and students, all while competing nationally and internationally.

Our approach in practice
In Indonesia, we supported the modernization of vocational training in the poultry and dairy sectors. This involved close collaboration with local vocational schools to align curricula with industry needs, introduce gender-sensitive approaches, and integrate innovative digital tools and certification systems to enhance employability.
In Ghana, we revitalized agricultural TVET by introducing business-oriented curricula and embedding informal business practices into training programs. This approach helped institutions better prepare students for real-world challenges while strengthening the entrepreneurial mindset needed in rural economies.
In Algeria and Ethiopia, our interventions focused on developing leadership capacity and strengthening research and development functions within universities. Through customized capacity-building programs, we helped institutions enhance their strategic positioning, expand their societal impact, and become more responsive to national development priorities.
